Colorado Attorney Raymond Chamberland III has dedicated his entire professional life to serving the United States and taking care of the people that need his legal advice and protection. Prior to founding Chamberland Law in Colorado Springs in 2005, Ray spent more than 25 years as a member of the U.S. military, first as a missile combat crew member and then later as a JAG at Patrick Air Force Base, where he handled thousands of military family law cases.
Ray later transferred to Vandenberg Air Force Base, where he was promoted to the position of Staff Judge Advocate, which is the military equivalent of a City Attorney position. He was placed in charge of the other JAGs at the base. In addition to family law cases, Ray has also dealt with cases involving military law, civil law, environmental law, and contracts. Prior to joining the U.S. Air Force, Ray was a volunteer fireman.
While serving in the armed forces, Ray earned his BA in Business Administration from Bellevue College in Nebraska in 1983, his Master of Administration from Central Michigan University in 1988, his Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in Nebraska in 1994, and his Master of Military Science from Air War College at Maxwell AFB in Alabama in 2003. Attorney Chamberland is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Nebraska.
Ray and his wife Mary fell in love with Colorado during an earlier visit to this beautiful state. In 2005, he retired from the U.S. military out of Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and founded Chamberland Law in Downtown Colorado Springs. Ray is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Family Law Section, the El Paso County Bar Association, and is a past member of the El Paso County Law Library Committee.
Ray loves having his own Colorado family law practice, because he now helps both civilian and military families get through what can sometimes be the most challenging times in their lives. Ray represents clients in all areas of family law, including Divorce, Legal Separation, Child Custody and Visitation, Child Support, Spousal Maintenance, Property Valuation and Division, Prenuptial/Postnuptial Agreements, Annulments, Stepparent Adoptions, Adoptions, Paternity, Dependency and Neglect Proceedings, Domestic Violence/Restraining Orders, and Grandparents' Rights. Ray also continues to represent military service members and their families in military family law and military administrative proceedings.
Many of Ray's clients live in Colorado Springs, Cimarron Hills, Security-Widefield, Monument, Woodland Park, Black Forest, Canon City, Fountain, Florissant, and other cities in the Pikes Peak Region, the Tri-Lakes Area, Douglas County, Fremont County, and El Paso County, Colorado.
Colorado Springs Attorney Chamberland provides personalized legal representation to all of his clients. Ray handles every detail of their cases and, with strength and sensitivity, compassionately guides them toward making the decisions that are in their best interests and the best interests of their children. Many of Ray's current and former clients say that they chose him to represent them because they instinctively knew that Ray was someone that would take care of them and fight for their rights.
Ray works collaboratively with his Colorado Springs family law clients in an effort to secure the best outcome for their cases. He does his best to make the process as painless as possible for them and their children by working toward consensus and fair settlements through negotiation, settlement conferences, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
In the event that resolution through mediation or negotiation proves impossible, Ray is a skillful litigator and a brilliant strategist. With his years of military training and experience as a U.S. combat crew member and a Staff Judge Advocate, Ray is a zealous advocate for his clients, who know that he will take no prisoners in the fight to secure the best agreements or settlements for them.
